Vanaja Mukherjee has joined the Surveillance Informatics Branch (SIB) of the Surveillance Research Program (SRP) as a Program Manager. She brings her expertise in project coordination and management to support the National Cancer Institute/Department of Energy’s Pilot 3 Collaboration.
Vanaja has two master’s degrees: one in Biotechnology from Banasthali Vidyapith University and another in Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics from the University of Maryland at College Park. She has extensive experience in a variety of areas, including scientific research, data analysis, report writing, communications, analytics, compliance, and leading small teams. She has previously worked as a Senior Scientist at Canon U.S. Life Sciences Inc., largely in the development of Point of Care devices and Research Use Only (RUO) products. Before that, she worked for over eight years as a Research Associate at the National Institute on Drug Abuse on neurotransmitter transporters, primarily using cell lines.
Her specialized experience and background in the fields of Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Bioinformatics, and Genetics are valuable assets that she brings to her new role at SRP.
