Jalyn Walker has joined the Office of the Associate Director (OAD) of the Surveillance Research Program (SRP) as a Cancer Research Training Award (CRTA) fellow through the NCI Communications Fellowship (NCF). During her time here, she will be working on the ‘Did You Know?’ video series, the annual newsletter, and the official @NCICancerStats Twitter page, among other projects. Jalyn is currently working from home in Detroit, Michigan.
Prior to arriving at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), Jalyn attained both her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and her Masters in Public Health at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. During her time at the University of Michigan, Jalyn worked as a Wellness Coach for women hoping to create holistic lifestyle changes through behavioral models. Jalyn also worked for the Michigan Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (MADRC) where she developed a monthly speaker series to inform others about dementia and prevention methods.
