Felix has 10 years of bench science experience as a pharmacologist and medicinal chemist. Felix also has over 3 years of health informatics experience, specifically in software implementation, application lifecycle management, and health data management. In the Summer of 2020, Felix joined the Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences (DCCPS) Surveillance Research Program (SRP) as a functional specialist/bioinformatician to provide operational and technical support across different Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) cancer data surveillance initiatives and pilots. Prior to arriving at DCCPS, Felix supported the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) Office of Business Informatics (OBI), where he provided software testing and project management services for the modernization of the CDER Informatics Platform from 2018-2020.
Felix holds a Ph.D. degree in Chemical Biology from the Johns Hopkins University, where he completed his thesis research with Dr. Jun O. Liu from the Department of Pharmacology and Molecular at the School of Medicine. In addition, Felix is also working on his master’s degree training in Bioinformatics from the Johns Hopkins University.
Felix originates from Houston, Texas and attended Texas A&M University, College Station, where he completed his Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry with minors in Mathematics and Biochemistry.
