Anna joined the Surveillance Research Program (SRP) in mid-2019 working to enhance pathology and radiology reports and image reporting for the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results Program. Anna has provided scientific and IT support while working with vendors, aided in defining requirements, and managed electronic reports involving radiology and digital pathology image sharing initiatives. Anna has over 17 years of experience working with government agencies, non-profits in scientific IT and next generation data discovery. Some projects Anna has been involved with include analytics platforms, connecting and disseminating clinical trials/studies, research, and registry data.
Anna's healthcare experience includes medical imaging, biorepository management, data science, and translational/precision medicine-related informatics solutions. She previously worked at Philips Research North American as a senior research staff member working in oncology and non-oncology imaging projects. As a contractor, her informatics-related work includes efforts at NCI Cancer Biomedical Informatics Grid (biorepositories); the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute's (NHLBI) multi-site Pediatric Heart Network Informatics Grid and NHLBI machine-learning based scientific portfolio analysis; the National Library of Medicine’s analysis of common data element repositories; and the American College of Radiology (ACR) in the development of modernized data analytics and research platforms.
Anna has a BS in Electrical Engineering from University of Maryland, College Park and an MS, PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University. She was an Adjunct Assistant Professor, in Cybersecurity, at the University of Maryland Global Campus Graduate School.
