Valentina Petkov joined SRP as a Health Scientist/Program Officer in March of 2014. She leads a team tasked with evaluation of data collected by SEER. Valentina is particularly interested in automation of data collection and quality assurance. Prior to joining NCI, Valentina worked at the Virginia Commonwealth University Massey Cancer Center, where she was involved in the development and evaluation of clinical research informatics tools aimed to help conduct clinical trials. Originally from Bulgaria, Valentina earned her MD in 1986 from the Medical University of Sofia and received her MPH from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2001. She has over 10 years of experience as a practicing primary care physician in Bulgaria and more than 15 years of experience in all aspects of conducting clinical trials in the United States.
