Radu Robotin has joined the National Cancer Institute’s (NCI) Surveillance Research Program (SRP) as a Technical Advisor. Prior to joining SRP Radu worked with NCI’s Center for Biomedical Informatics and Information Technology (CBIIT), where he spearheaded the migration to the cloud for the Clinical Trials Reporting Platform (CTRP), serverless technologies for the Scientific Trials Reporting and Analytics Platform (STRAP), and the cloud-native development for the Precision Medicine Analysis and Coordination Center.
He started his professional tenure in academia, earned his Master of Science (MS) in Automation and Computer Science from Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania and his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Robotics from the same university. He transitioned into the for-profit sector, wearing multiple hats such as solutions architect, software developer, and database specialist or cloud engineer. As a coder-turned-technology-advocate, Radu understands the challenges and needs of modern engineers, as well as how cloud technology fits into the broader business goals of companies in a demanding high-tech world.
His areas of expertise include Amazon Web Services (AWS) solutions, cloud-native applications, big data, serverless architectures and DevOps. Radu holds multiple AWS Professional certifications; and he is an AWS IQ SME and AWS Certifications and Training SME.
