Tina Terranova has joined the NCI Surveillance Research Program (SRP)'s Surveillance Informatics Branch (SIB) as a contractor through ICF. Tina is a project manager for the National Childhood Cancer Registry (NCCR) and Data Acquisitions and Linkages (DAL) projects within SRP.
Prior to joining SRP, Tina worked for two years as a program manager for the Baltimore City Health Department's (BCHD) Teen Pregnancy Prevention and STI Reduction program within the Adolescent and Reproductive Health Department. Before working with BCHD, she worked for three and a half years as a data and evaluation specialist for the DC Coalition Against Domestic Violence (DCCADV). During her time there, Tina administered and monitored implementation of a Violence Against Women Act (VAWA)-compliant and HMIS-comparable database for local domestic violence service providers. She also provided technical assistance to member programs on data collection best practices to ensure compliance with VAWA regulations and confidentiality laws. She spent five years with the Baltimore City Visitation Center as the Center Supervisor and Visitation Monitor. During her time with the Visitation Center, Tina supervised visitations and monitored exchange for children and their non-custodial parent in cases with a history of domestic violence between parents. She is experienced with social and racial justice, improving health disparities, and accessible community health programs in marginalized communities.
Tina holds a MS in Community Health Education and Healthcare Administration from Towson University and a BS in Social Science from the University of Maryland Global Campus. She also holds a post-baccalaureate certificate in Family Professional Collaboration from Towson University.
