Tracy Thompson, MPH, joined the Surveillance Research Program in 2023 as a Senior Project Manager. As part of the Office of the Associate Director, she works closely with program leadership in developing special projects and is looking forward to managing contracts. Her professional interests include vaccines, food equity, and health information.

Tracy holds a BS degree in Biology, a BA degree in Chemistry, and an MPH from Michigan State University (MSU). Prior to joining SRP, Tracy was a Program Manager at MSU. In her most recent position in their Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, she oversaw the development of an inter-institutional pregnancy cohort involving recruitment from 11 hospitals and 20 clinics. In her first role at Michigan State, Tracy was a Program Manager in the Office of Public Policy and coordinated projects related to reducing childhood obesity. She was also the Director of Policy for Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia. Tracy began her career at NIH as a biologist for the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences and was selected for the NIH Management Fellowship. From there she went on to take a leadership position in the Office of the Director of the Center for Cancer Research here at NCI. The Surveillance Research Program is happy she has returned to our Institute.
