The Joinpoint model is often used to examine changes in trends. This presentation provides an overview of the Joinpoint model. In particular, the video gives conceptual basics of the model, including why one would use this model, model specifications, permutation test, fitting parameters, and interpretation of trends. Hands-on operation of the Joinpoint software is also briefly described.

The presentation also covers delay adjustment for incidence rates used to correct for biases due to under-reporting for the most recent years of diagnosis reported. It demonstrates how delay-adjusted rates can be exported from SEER*Stat and modeled using Joinpoint.

The presentation is part of the SEER*Stat Tools Webinars presented by the National Cancer Institute.
